Brian Walker

 

 

Brian was previously a Federal Prosecutor who represented the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in matters such as the importation of the drug ephedrine with an estimated street value of $120 million, and sexual assault matters involving sporting stars. Brian was part of the Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce as a former Australian Federal Police Member and represented the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police in NSW Supreme Court proceedings.

 

This included the forfeiture of approximately $220,000 in proceeds of crime in The Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police [2018] NSWSC 1737, and approximately $400,000 in another matter, Application by the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police [2018] NSWSC 1302. Brian has published an article for Lawyer Monthly concerning proceeds of crime. Prior to becoming a barrister, Brian was an investigator at the Australian Taxation Office in the Private Groups & High Wealth Individuals – Offshore Tax Evasion department.
